RE: Gaming finds!
That is just plain sweet! It looks like in great condition. Dude, you got E.T. as well. Nice find. But does the system work? How did you manage to score it for free?

RE: Gaming finds!
The system was my mother-in-law's. I may test the system sometime in the next few days. It's physically in excellent condition. I'm surprised how good it is after the dust was wiped off. :)

Getting the games + manuals was a bonus! And feels good to get E.T. too. Don't know why, but it feels good!

It doesn't matter if it works or not and how good it works, just having it is the big deal Grin

RE: Gaming finds!
I just picked up a mint white PSOne controller. You know the Dualshock2 version that came with the little PSOne console. I bid on another one but no idea if I'll win it. Grin

RE: Gaming finds!
Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought the Turbografx-CD on Ebay! The standalone unit is really hard to find. Most folks on Ebay sell it with a regular Turbografx-16, which I don't need. Even those combined units are hard to find. I'm a purist, so I would rather own the original TG-CD than the Turbo Duo. So as soon as I saw this Turbografx-CD, I had to bid on it. What's cool is that I won it by $2.00! My highest bid was $200.33, but the final bid was at $198 and some change. That's still a good price, a standalone unit can be $250 - $300, anything past that is price gouging. :-)

The other closest bid was for Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES) some years ago. I won that auction by like 5 cents! Hehe.

RE: Gaming finds!
Yeah, I can't wait to start collecting some TG-CD stuff. I have Ys I & II Chronicles and Ys: Oath in Felghana (Ys III remake) for the PSP. I also have Ys I & II on the Virtual Console via Wii. But I must own the originals on TG-CD. What's odd is that I played Ys III to death on the SNES when I was a kid, but never got to play it on the Turbografx. So I'm really excited.

Fighting Street (or Street Fighter in the arcades) was awesome. I always wondered where Street Fighter II came from as a kid. So in the arcades, those giant buttons you had to pound on was so cool. Hehe. Then, I saw Fighting Street on the Turbografx, and I was blown away.

Time to add TG-CD stuff to my most wanted list. :-)

RE: Gaming finds!
I just bought some games on the clearance rack at Half-Price Books. They are as follows...

Defender (Atari 2600) $1.99
Moon Patrol (Atari 2600) $1.99
Call of Duty World at War (XBOX 360) $3.00
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (XBOX 360) $3.00
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (XBOX 360) $3.00

Non-clearance rack because I really needed 3 of these games!
The SimCity Box (PC) which includes SimCity Societies + Expansion, SimCity 4 + Expansion, Sim Carnival, and some demo $7.99

I got these for a good deal I think.

P.S. Moon Patrol is freaking awesome!

RE: Gaming finds!
Well, I didn't buy that many games. But I did manage to acquire a few in the past month.

The Addams Family - Turbografx-CD - $25.00
Star Wars Arcade - Sega 32x - $8.00
Diablo III - Playstation 3 - $30.00

RE: Gaming finds!
Wow, Diablo III was expensive! I was hoping to get that on PC w/expansion for not much more than $20-25. I may have another few months before the price drops? Star Wars arcade is cool but hard as is most Star Wars games. I enjoyed most of them except Rebel Assault on the Sega CD. Too difficult.

Diablo III is still a hot seller on any system. That's why the game is still expensive. I had to buy the game in order to play with my gaming buddy. Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition (complete with DLC Reaper of Souls & extra goodies) is coming out August 19th for the consoles (PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4) for $40 current gen and $60 next gen consoles. So expect the regular edition to drop in price after August 19th. Diablo III is awesome so far. I can't believe how fun that game is and graphics are just incredible and very detailed.

I bought The Addams Family & Star Wars Arcade to test out their respective systems, since I didn't have any games for the Turbografx-CD and Sega 32x. I'm happy to say my Turbografx-CD works great. My Sega 32x is working just fine with regular Genesis games. I'm still waiting for the Star Wars game to arrive. Man, can you believe my Sega Genesis/CD/32x system requires 3 power adapters? Hehe.

RE: Gaming finds!
My Turbografx-CD system is ready for prime time! I'm done with testing the system. It's now time to play Castlevania Dracula X: Rondo of Blood! I bought it the other day on Ebay. Yeah I know it's quite expensive. But the bid ended at $118.00, which is lower than the average price for a mint condition copy (usually $130 - $150). After 20 years of hearing how good the game is, I now can experience it on actual hardware. How cool is that?

Yeah, it came on Wii Virtual Console, but I have to play it on a true Turbografx-CD.

RE: Gaming finds!
Wow, that's one expensive game. But I'm sure it's worth it especially if you like Castlevania!
