RE: Oculus CV1
For $599.00, it's not a cheap endeavor. I would rather wait until something like Playstation VR hits the PS4. I'm sure the price will be more competitive by that time. Oculus Rift is the first VR helmet in the consumer market right now that actually plays video games, so the price surely reflects that. Also, my current PC video card will definitely choke on Oculus.

RE: Oculus CV1
Good lord that's expensive! Tell my and my wife's bosses to give us both a raise then its a done deal! Grin In all seriousness I won't get one because VR does something with my vision/equilibrium and causes unfriendly effects. I'd be curious to see how well it does in the market, especially with that price point. Then again we have people spending hundreds of $$$ for video cards now.

RE: Oculus CV1
PSVR is expected to be around 550-600 as well. A leaked listing on amazon.ca listed it at 800 bucks. Vive is being rumored to be closer to 1000 Sad VR at it's release isn't going to be cheap

RE: Oculus CV1
It's official that the Playstation VR is priced at $399 releasing in October. But the camera doesn't come bundled, which is required to use the Playstation VR. So, you gotta buy it separately for $59. In order to get started, you must pay $460, not bad considering Oculus Rift (released today) is $600 and HTC Vive (next month) is $800.

RE: Oculus CV1
You also need two move controllers for some games on psvr which is another 60-80 bucks.

Also the PSVR screen is 960 x 1080 per eye compared to the oculus and vive's 1080×1200 per eye. When touch releases for the rift, it's controller has a ring around it that can sense your finger movements and approximate them in game.

I wana say there's going to be a psvr bundle for those that don't have all the accesories for 499 that is the headset, camera, move controller and a free game.

I should hopefully have my rift by the end of the week Grin

RE: Oculus CV1
My oculus touch came in last week. I'm seriously giving thought to starting a VR Fitness channel on twitch. These games are super fun but they are also a workout. Here are a couple of the one's I've played the most so far.

RE: Oculus CV1
Oculus + touch system is down to 399 right now everywhere it's sold. Fantastic system. Been playing a lot of Robo Recall, Pavolv VR, Star Trek Bridge Crew and more. Bridge Crew is amazing if you are a Star Trek Fan. But don't take my word for it, experience the USS Ham Sandwich crew in action!

Is there a way to embed these youtube videos at a specific time? I wanted this one to start at 5m20s but it doesn't seem to want to do that

Here's another video with me playing engineer in the classic enterprise

and here's one of the new ship. This one is neat because you can see me play both captain and tactical because we lost a player.

If the link with the time stamp doesn't work then it won't work. Software limitation or YouTube policy I am not sure which.
